We got our Christmas tree up on the 2nd. It's a tradition in our family to get a real tree each year (and then watch as it slowly dies by Christmas...LOL) I just love the smell of a real tree, it smells like Christmas to me! I was looking at the tree the other day and thinking of the significance it has to the birth of Christ. I looked it up on the Internet and found several things. The one I liked the best is that the shape of the tree symbolizes the trinity, with each of the three points being the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We always put a cross on the top of our tree to remind us of the gift Jesus gave us on the cross. But as I looked at the tree, I realized it sort of looks like a big arrow, pointing toward that cross on top...or pointing toward heaven. So, each time I look at that tree, I follow the arrow with my eyes and my heart toward Jesus. I pray you will find little ways like this to remember what Christmas is all about this holiday season...the birth of our Lord and the sacrifice He made for us at calvary so we can have eternal life with Him.
